Brief Description of the position:
The Counseling Director is someone with a clear calling and deep passion to shepherd and care for the people of Citylight. This role centers on assessing and providing pastoral care at both locations of Citylight Omaha. This will include managing the care request platform as well as triage, one on one and couples counseling, and helping people to find the appropriate level of counsel. Working closely with the Campus Pastor, the Counseling Director will help implement Citylight’s mission and values within the care ministry.

2.Shepherd and care for the people of Citylight Church (~80%)
·Respond to care requests from both locations in a timely manner and perform the initial intake meeting to determine appropriate next steps.
·Connect congregants to lay elders, staff, and deacons for pastoral care as appropriate.
·Provide gospel-centered, biblically faithful care and counseling through one-on-one meetings.
·Thoughtful communication, preparation, and reflection for care meetings.
·Develop individualized care plans and timelines for those seeking care, in alignment with biblical wisdom and best practices.
·Cultivate relationships with Christian counseling centers in Omaha for referrals, including on-site counseling offices managed by Citycare Counseling.
·Help other staff and lay elders and deacons in the care of the congregation—answer questions, resourcing the team, and trainings.
·Other care responsibilities as manager sees fit.
4.Serve as a member of the staff team (~20%)
·Contribute to a healthy, collaborative staff culture by participating in team rhythms and supporting other ministries as needed.
·Weekly staff meetings—1-on-1 with manager, staff prayer, team meetings.
·Visible presence and connection with church family at Sunday gatherings.
·Staff communication—email, texts, phone calls, etc.
·Help to care for and develop any official Citylight care residents.
·Be a flexible team player, willing to support and serve in areas beyond primary responsibilities when needed.

·Self-Motivated and disciplined — owner and steward of your time to accomplish the vision and goals of the Care Ministry.
Educational requirement: Master’s degree in counseling, pastoral care, or a related field.
Experience needed: At least 5 years of formal ministry experience in a counseling, care, or recovery setting.
